TOURIST PLANNING: RIVER BEACH AND CAMPSITE COMPLEX

A proposal for a tourist instalation for the Municipality led to an intensive study about History, Heritage, culture, analysis of local tourism, vernecular architecture of nearby villages (including water mills and the susceptibility measures of our ancestors) and present, for a perfect combination of passive and active systems.
That said, the proposal is divided into two parts:
Fase 1) Construction of a complex, which was called "park", carried out in two construction phases: the first phase referres to the construction of a river beach, where the existing water mill is conserved and rehabilitated; and the second phase referres to the construction of a camping site.
Fase 2) Construction plan for a infrastructure to support the park, namely tourist attraction strategies not only for the site but for the entire surrounding area.

An attempt was made to develop a network or base for all tourism in the region, this is, mini visitor posts were created in several of the villages in the region. Here, it is possible to have several features, among which the provision of information on the various tourist points of the villages and their surroundings, as well as the ability to rent a alternative and ecological means of transportation in order to circulate through the region and access the project site, in a different, healthy and environmentally friendly way.
The natural walkway that runs along the Paiva River, from Castro Daire, passing through the project site and going to Arouca, which, in addition to strengthening the forgotten connection between man and nature, will link the project to the villages around the river, and to tourist routes scattered throughout the region, providing the possibility of being used continuously by the local population, either to exercise or to contemplate the natural environment, for reasons of leisure and well-being.
The mini visitor/information posts are intended to disseminate the local heritage by proposing that they occupy and recovering existing buildings, thus being able to serve as an incentive, or example for individuals to do the same with their patrimony.
